Working with the Moon
This is the backbone of the next 28 days, and so I'd like to give a simple rundown of the way you will use it here. You can go so much deeper by studying your own astrology, but that's a lesson for another day.
Even if you find this all a bit "woo woo", there's no denying that our earth is affected by the moon cycles as it is our satellite. And we're all beautiful creatures on this earth.
It's nice to remind yourself sometimes that things are greater than what they might appear. It makes it easier to "not sweat the small stuff."
Anyhow humans, especially women, are also affected by the moon and its position can affect our energy levels. Many women can time-sync their own menstrual cycles with the moon, but for the sake of the pregnant and nursing mamas out there, I'm just going to stick with the four main phases of the moon, which change about every 7 days.
New Moon
New Moon: The new moon is the when the sun and the moon conjoin at the same point in the sky. The moon symbolizes our emotional needs, while the sun is our logic. When you look out at night it appears that there is no moon, so it's dark and maybe a little unsettling. This is actually the perfect time for Introspection. It's a great time to initiate new things and welcome new ideas, but let it come easy. So you'll set the intention or goal in the new moon but it might not get going until the 1st quarter moon, where you'll find it will be effortless.
1st Quarter Moon
1st Quarter Moon: You will see half the moon and it's a great time to see where you are in relation to the goal you've set and get your plans in order. Your energy should be fairly high this week.
Full Moon
Full Moon: This is a time where you are in the full reveal and a time for celebration and to show off what you've been doing since the 1st quarter moon. But don't beat yourself up if you're not feeling celebratory because it affects everyone differently! I find I'm generally emotional and sometimes overwhelmed, so I'm easy on myself. However, for the purpose of A Happier Mom this is where you'll have the most essential tools for reaching your bliss, and following this point, we ramp down and bring it all together.
Last Quarter Moon
Last Quarter Moon: The moon is reducing in size once again and we only see half the moon. It's a time to reflect on what you've done since setting plans in motion and release anything that hasn't worked for you. During this final week with A Happier Mom, you will be integrating daily easy exercises to complete the cycle.
Summary
I hope you love this new practice and use it past this training. You can use it for projects you want to accomplish, or just keep running it every 28 days and let it remind you of the cyclical nature of our lives. We cannot always be at a 10, so be easy on yourself! The moon, the OG Happier Mom, dictates it as so.
