What you will need
Day 1 will throw you right into the good stuff so I recommend reading this before you begin.
- Pinpoint your Start Date: The best time to start A Happier Mom is on a new moon rather than a Monday. This isn't a "woo woo" thing; it's actually a biological one. You will perform better if you follow the cycles of the moon because that's how Mother Nature (the original happier mom) designed us. You'll find more about the Moons in our next lesson, but in the meantime, pinpoint your start date by googling or checking out a calendar and looking for the new moon (even my son's scholastic one has it :))
- Wake up 10 Minutes Earlier: On your start date, I want you to wake up 10 minutes earlier than your kids. That's it!! 10 Minutes!! As the 28 days go on, you might decide you want to add another 5 or 10 minutes on top of that, but for now, it's just 10 minutes. Each morning you'll receive an email with a link to a 5-minute recording and a journal prompt or activity to try that day, so I want you to have enough time to digest it before other people start to need you.
- Write it Down: Download and print A Happier Mom Weekly Planner 4 times, or designate one notebook that you will use every day to document your journey to becoming A Happier Mom. Be sure to keep it by your bed for use in the mornings and evenings. If you choose to use the planner, you'll find that I've also included a journal area and a space for the two questions you'll answer each night. If you use your own journal, you can feel free to start each page with the date and be sure to include the following as well:
1. One thing that made my child happy today (if you have more than one, then please give them each their own line).
2. One thing that made me happy today
- Take it Easy: Don't try to tackle the planner on Day 1. Just use it for journaling and your happiness check-ins. We will review the whole planner on Day 6.
Download the Planner Below and I'll see you on Day 1!!
